Daring launches the first batch of XO Rum

A really nice upgrade to the PX-Cask is the 18-year-old Barbados Rum penned by Nikolas Kröger and his team and is mega complex. The new rum comes from two of the best-known distilleries on the Caribbean island of Barbados, where it was allowed to mature for a full 18 years (actually almost 19 years) in former Bourbon white oak barrels before it was shipped to Germany.

Kröger uses very fresh PX sherry casks for its rum

There in Quickborn, the rum was then filled into freshly emptied Pedro Ximénez casks that were still properly moistened with sherry , where it then matured for a little more than a year and took on the wonderful sherry aromas. Its wonderful orange-gold color also comes from this post-ripening. However, it is important to emphasize that no sherry was "forgotten" in the casks.
